:Letter from Our Elders:

March 31, 2020
The elders are sensitive to the grief and loss that many are experiencing. Most of us have never seen anything like this. The pandemic has interrupted all of our lives. Some have loved ones that have been exposed to the virus. People are losing their jobs. Many of us have been asked not to leave our homes and to shelter in place. In many of our communities, orders have been given to limit gathering in public spaces. This has been hard for all of us. As we suspend our traditional ways of gathering to worship, we do so to prevent placing our loved ones and others at risk.
As Christians we should exemplify Jesus in every act of love and kindness we extend to one another.  We are the Church, the body of the risen Christ.
Based on the most current information available, the elders have decided that it is best to cancel our worship service for another 2 weeks. We had hoped to be able to meet together on April 5 but the COVID-19 virus continues to spread and is getting closer to Habersham County. As of 7:07 pm Monday, Georgia has 3032 confirmed cases with 102 reported deaths ( https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report ). The spiritual needs, safety and health of our Habersham family are the prime considerations in making this decision.

If all goes well we plan to resume meeting together on April 19, 2020.

Please note, we are rescheduling our April 18-19 Gospel meeting with Roger Chambers until mid-September.

Welcome:

We want to invite you to explore our site. Hopefully, if you haven't already, you will come, live, study, worship, and grow with us in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our hope to follow the scriptures (without bias) in all we say and do (Colossians 3.17). We seek to follow no tradition save what the scriptures teach us to follow. We call ourselves by no human name; we strive to be simply members of the church that Christ built. It is in this endeavor that we call ourselves Christians and Christians only (I Corinthians 1). We strive to worship as God has instructed. We consider all who have obeyed the gospel plan of salvation (ref., every salvation passage) as outlined in the scriptures to be members of that same church (Acts 2.39,41). Come and worship with us at Habersham.
